Refurbished Sony PRS-505 for 179,99 EUR (Germany)

This Sunday, October 4th, Thalia is going to sell refurbished units of the Sony PRS-505 that were previously used by Thalia employees. Each unit has been fully tested, has undergone thorough quality checks, and comes with original packaging.

Apparently there is only limited availability, so if you are interested, make sure to bookmark the following page to visit next Sunday:

Thanks to MobileReader beam for the tip!

That's quite a bargain when you consider how expensive the 505 was in germany only a couple of months ago.

It's too expensive for USA residents at around $261.

I very much doubt they would ship there even if it wasn't.

That's not a surprise considering how USD has depreciated against EUR and also how the retail price of the 505 is a lot higher in Germany than in the US.

Unfortunately, they state: "Der Versand ins Ausland ist nicht möglich".
Meaning: No shipping outside of Germany.
I hate it. Especially within EU it's ridiculous. But I permanently have this with UK, which (theoretically) would be extremely cheap now.

That's because:

1. It includes the German VAT rate of 19%.
2. The US$ has fallen through the floor against the Euro recently.

It's a very good price for people in the "Euro Zone".

I can get one at $210. I just found a store. It's not the magical $179 but it might do.
