sony VS cooler

I use a comic pdf to test turn page speed.

sony prs-505 vs cooler
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKymsM0tp_Y

sony prs-300 vs cooler
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zHSyepjULE

PRS-300 is very very slow on turning page.
Cooler is more fast than those two devices.

On paper the COOLERs CPU has great power / protential, but its software is entirely a different matter.

I wish Netronix listen to customers and give us improve PDF / JPG functions ie. zoom, margin cut...

What format did you use for the comic? While -lve found that the 300 can be a bit slow with large pdfs, when it comes to comics that have been converted to lrf via calibre its rather quick. I regularly read comics converted from cbr or cbz format to lrf and find the device to be very responsive and not laggy at all.

As I mentioned , I use a comic pdf to test.
Because the Cool-er can not read LRF format, and I think the reason of turning page speed is prs-300 only using 200 Mhz CPU.

Using a PDF gives a good feel for the relative power of the two devices - but it's much less useful for comparing the user experience. The majority of comics/manga are found in CBR/CBZ and require conversion to be read on either device. Very few users are going to convert them to PDF for the PRS-300, so while it is much slower than the Cool-Er under those circumstances it doesn't really matter that much because most people won't be reading PDF comics on the PRS-300.

Comparing a PDF comic on the Cool-Er to an LRF comic on a PRS-300 may not be an apples to apples comparison of the hardware, but it will give a more accurate representation of the user experience on the two devices.

The conversion to LRF is not likely to be doing anything. It's the downsizing of the page image that leads to the speed improvement... and that ought to hold true whether you are converting it to LRF, ePub, or reconstituting it as PDF.
