I Love my first eReader, a Pocket Pro 5"

It really is awesome. It came with a 1GB card, so I put a bunch of books on it. Right now I've got every book that Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Peter Hamilton, Robert Heinlen, Clive Barker, Dan Brown, Tom Clancy Arthur Clarke, Robin Cook, Michael Crichton, Clive Cussler, John Grisham, Robert Ludlum, HP Lovecraft, Anne Rice, Brad Thor, Harry Turtledove, and Brian Lumley book they published. I never have to carry around another book.

I think this is one of the best purchases I have ever bought. I am very pleased with it.

I just got the black unit and this being my first reader I am very happy. I like the fact that it comes with a case and everything you need out of the box. Unlike the Kindle or Sony I don't have to go out and buy additional accessories. I have my entire collection in Mobipocket (non-DRM) and I was able to transfer it all to the EZReader fairly easily. It did take some time to get the folders and titles the way I want them. It basically uses the file names when you transfer from Mobipocket instead of the book info as listed in Mobipocket itself.

Have you tried to navigate hyperlinks in an ePub eBook yet?

Which part of his/her whole collection is in mobi format was it that you didn't understand, or did you just feel like jumping in on another Astak thread and trying to hijack it with your personal crusade against this hyperlink bug of yours?

No wonder your post count is so high you post the same things in every thread give it a rest already.

Jon, if the Hanlin/BeBook/Astak doesn't navigate hyperlinks in ePub and that is so important to you, why do you want you wife to get one?

Personally, for a low-price unit, I would much rather have a user-changeable battery than the ePub hyperlink. Not saying that both wouldn't be good, but my preference is for what the Pocket Pro offers.

epub hyperlink...
ade page numbers...
zoom/font size problems...
small font/medium font difference...

These can all be fixed, updated, or perfected with ongoing firmware updates.

User-changeable battery...
SD card support...

These cannot. I am with GA Russell, and others, on this as well. I look forward to my PEZ, not only for what it can do now, but also for the great improvements that will come in the constantly-updated firmware downloads.

Not to mention that once OIP comes through with the PEZ version, I'll have a greater choice.

OpenInkPot. It's a third-party firmware that runs on the 6" EZReader and will hopefully soon be ported to the 5"

It sounds like a nice collection of eBooks!

Note that it is possible to add additional fonts for MobiPocket, but you have to use the right filename convention. From V3 Firmware Update:
Quote:
Notice: MOBIREADER support replace outside font library.
Method:
1). Put font library in SD:/fonts/ under index or built-in/storage:/fonts/ index
2).The name of the font library should abide by:
XXXX.TTF Normal font
XXXXBI.TTF Bold italic font
XXXXBD.TTF Bold font
XXXXI.TTF Italic font
Or
xxxx.ttf Normal font
xxxxbi.ttf Bold italic font
xxxxbd.ttf Bolf font
xxxxi.ttf Italic font
The file name should be all in capital letters or small letters and the 4 font libraries should be complete.
Otherwise it will be regarded as non-complete font library, and won’t be displayed in the list of MOBI READER font library.
This works on the Pocket Pro as well. Also, the XXXX or xxxx does not have to be 4 characters.

Gee... I just finished reading Dean Koontz's Progidal Son and City of Night and the lack of hyperlink capability did not matter - there were no hyperlinks...

That's sounds like a great collection of books. However, the way you worded your message, it sounds like these books came with the Pocket Pro. Could you clarify if these were the books that came with it, or just your own personal collection. I'd hate for everyone to expect this collection when they get their PP if this is not true.

Thank you.

Hi, AJ Starr:

You quoted tmgplc, but perhaps you meant Moo Strength, the original poster?

And, as Harry noted, these books are DRM'd titles [almost all of them] and are not available for free.
