On the Eve: A Novel (1859) Translated from the Russian by Constance Garnett (1861–1946) With an introduction by Edward Garnett London: William Heinemann, 1895 A story of tragic love, patriotism and idealism. A young and idealistic Russian girl falls in love with a Bulgarian revolutionary. I have restored the French and German accents. The cover image is by Turner. This work is in the Canadian public domain OR the copyright holder has given specific permission for distribution. It may still be under copyright in some countries.
