? Lower prices at Fictionwise

Is it just me, or does it seem that Fictionwise has been having newer books at lower prices recently? Certainly they are competing with Amazon on the NY Times best seller list at 9.95, but with the Micropay rebates, they may be lower than Amazon on many books. Good for EBook readers like us!

Absolutely! After Barnes & Noble bought Fictionwise, they announced that they were going to set a price of $9.95 for the NY Times best sellers. As you say, with the rebates, this can make the book cheaper to get from Fictionwise than from Amazon.

Usually, with club membership Fictionwise is cheaper (except if it's a hardcover, then it's more expensive than Amazon). But, in general, it's the cheapest e-book bookshop.

Also with their 100% micropay rebate, they further reduce the overall price of your books. You pay up front the hardcover price, but get 100% credit - so its basically free...

Does anyone know if Fictionwise is planning to add more Sony friendly titles? Their prices seen very good, but they have few "multi-format" titles in their mix.

YES!!!! We need more Sony friendly titles on Fictionwise. I would buy a membership, but it's not worthwhile cause most the the things I'm interested in that are cheaper than the Sony site are not in the right format.

More Multiformat or Adobe please Fictionwise!

lit format

The lit format that they sell converts very well using Convert Lit, its what I normally buy and convert it to imp format. Unlike pdf's lit files tend to convert very well!

That's what I do. Buy the MS LIT, strip the DRM, and convert it to LRF. Looks great, takes seconds.

I have had pretty good luck converting Secure mobipocket and Secure ereader to LRX/MOBI. Certainly LIT format is the easiest to convert. Sure is nice to have an alternative to Amazon.
