www.triskelion.com

Fictionwise carries great erotica, too.
Please help me out. What specifically did you find too male-oriented about the site? We really do strive to make it a pleasant site for all genders and orientations to visit. Any input on what put you off would be greatly appreciated.

As a male, I am not likely to complain, but based on the stories I "definitely did NOT look at, or read" you categorize stories by "perspective", and they do seem primarily "male" perspectives.

I think that categorization is helpful, it may perhaps mistakenly put women off the story.

Or it may be that the stories I "DID NOT" read were obviously biased to "male perspective" stories because I am a male.

The fact that I am a porpoise, did not lead me to favor "Non Human" stories.

Just a thought.

Categorisation is very helpful - it saves you the time it takes to sift through a very long list of boks you don't care to read. I find the lack of categorisation on e.g. loose-id annoying - it takes far too long time to find anything. Perhaps I just have a somewhat male perspective on erotica/porn.

I'd say gender neautral means it's aimed at and appeal to both men and women. This is racy romance for straight women.

My mistake; Triskelion has closed up shop.

IMO Loose Id has titles that appeal to both men and women. They are more erotica than romance, and they also have quite a few LGBT titles.

To each his or her own, I guess. I'm not ashamed to say I read a ton of erotica.

On the DRM subject, I don't know of any large e-publishers of erotica who use DRM. Ellora's Cave is one of the largest, and they have not used DRM in any of their years in business (I think they've been around for 8 years; Loose Id has been around for at least five).

I don't!

I mean, I have never actually weighed it.

Is this a metric ton?

You bet it's a metric ton!

I also write it. Er, used to write it. I even wrote for Penthouse Variations, under a man's name.

Me neither, but I'm still puzzled why you would call this site gender neutral?

Their LGBT titles are mostly m/m written for women. No problem with that, I read that, too, but it's hardly gender neutral. Overall, I can't see much that I can imagine would appeal to men, neither gay or straight, but then I'm a woman, so I can't be certain.

(Tried to find some f/f, but it's well hidden)

Just to prove I never read this stuff, what name did you write under? I know I can verify I never read your stories for Penthouse Variations, because I never have.

Honest.

I can prove it, by specifically not recalling the stories. And never having gained pleasure by reading them.

select a good name, like:
See?Registered
or NoRegistration
or BugOff
or ... whatever
email account:
registered@mailinator.com
(you know Mailinator, the best throwaway email address ever) visit www.mailinator.com to retrieve your registration
password:
password123

Since I have started practicing this I do not have to register again and again and again to the same sites I visit about once a month. Before I have always forgotten what name and password I have registered with and had to register again.

To start with, the girl in the skimpy bikini in the page header.

I'll happily come up with more later .(When I'm not at work... it's just not a site I should be reading at work, even if it's not blocked. Which I'm not going to check.)

I'm not sure Mobileread wants to host a detailed discussion on the differences between male-focused and female-focused erotica, however, even if it is in reference to an ebook site.

As long as the discussion is related to ebooks and is turning on erotica as literary genre as well...

If we wind up discussing the actual content & (hypothetical) biases involved, the discussion runs the risk of getting either very explicit, or abstract to the point of meaninglessness. It's hard to discuss differences in literary styles without examples, and the examples are likely to be, ahem, full of words that used to be blocked on AOL's servers.

Should we try the discussion anyway? Use asterisks in some words? Use euphemisms where possible? (Either of those veers a bit towards the ridiculous, but it's possible to hold a reasonable discussion through that.)
