See this thread:
http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27177 The customiser does exactly that - amongst other good things.

Meaning no offense to the creator(s) of that software, is there a way to do this without voiding the warranty? I'm fairly sure Sony would look askance at major modifications to their firmware.

You can always restore the firmware to the original state.

Not sure where dj is, but isn't that only true of the US firmware version?

I could restore the firmware, but only if the reader is working. If I need warranty service, it's probably because the reader isn't working. I paid extra for the extended warranty. Given a choice between fixing the annoyances in the Reader and having service and support should it die (or should I drop it off a cliff), I have to go with the latter.

Not sure if you original question was answered, but other than using the PRS Customizer, the firmware as it stands does not allow a unified font size in the menus.
