Bridgestone QR-LPD displays at Display2009

At Display2009 in Tokyo, the Bridgestone QR-LPD display won "Advanced Display of the Year 2009". The company appears to be working with Delta of Taiwan. I saw displays ranging from A6 to around A3, mono and color.

Refresh appears to be way faster than the Fujitsu product, with the same or higher contrast.

Display info at http://www2.bridgestone-dp.jp/global...erials/QR-LPD/.

The 13-inch display, based on "QR-LPD" tech, has what looks to be great color depth, along with snappy 0.8 second screen refreshes (great for this screen size) and actual Wacom-based pen input.
The 0.8 second refresh time isn't far off the speed of grey-scale EInk.

If you're going that big, you really should bump up to 14.5 inches diagonal, so it can handle letter width and A4 height. Anything less isn't going to be able to do full-size for paper-scaled PDFs.

From the pictures the contrast looks pretty poor. I don't know if that is because they aren't professional pictures or ...

Anyone have any personal experience with these screens?

Subjectively, the colors seem better than the Fujitsu product. Screen refresh is, again subjectively, somewhat faster than the Fujitsu's first refresh, and of course there are no second and third refreshes. The touchscreen resolution is also high, and appears to be Wacom technology. It's good enough for annotating text.

If you've ever tried to make pictures of a eink screen, you'd notice that it's really hard to make a picture which truely compliments the quality of eink. Due to the simple fact that the screen does not emits light.
On a photo, it looks much worse than in real life.

Since these pictures are made during a demonstration, they'd even have a tougher time to get the contrast looking as good as in real life.

here: this video shows much better contrast http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tz6DVIMBFpU
