Actually, at first sight, it made me think of something else entirely...

It was called "Icecream Pizza". It's okay, memory, particularly for names, is something rarely taken from a Party.

For those of you who might be less into cutting people's bodies up .... here's my Max with annotations.

The uterus has actually been sectioned such that the portion attached to the cervix has been removed from the upper part of the uterus, which contained the tumor. The upper portion of the uterus, and the tumor, have been cross sectioned, with the two halves left attached.

So, what you are looking at is two pieces of the organ, with the top piece splayed open.

The tumor was essentially crushing my uterus. It was a little over 7 pounds when it was removed. Max, a bouncing 7 pound 4 ounce mass.

This might be the best thread in which to say I now know what most of the inside of my colon looks like... (didn't get to see all of it as it was too long for the 'scope...)

Did you get to watch it on a big screen while they scoped you?? I've done that, although the prep for it was a pain .... at the time it was a 72 hour fast followed by three enemas. I hated the prep ... the procedure wasn't too bad.

I did - the nurses seemed a little bemused that I wanted to, though! It was a 48 hour fast plus two super-strong laxatives, which left me feeling dehydrated and headachey. The procedure itself only got uncomfrtable at the end when they were trying to get down the last 20 cms and couldn't!

I got mine examined too.
I really wanted to see the progress of the camera through the maze but that injection felt s-o-o-o-o good that I lost concentration about a gazillion times. I was left with a few polaroids though. They were of an anomaly that could cause problems down the line if not checked(pun intended). Asides from that everything's fine but a bruised ego from that... penetration if I can call it that.

I recently had the procedure which went well. The prep is getting better, only 2 small bottles (500 mm) of "cleanser" the night before, and 2 tablet "cleansers" on the morning of.

I was given combo IV Valium/Demerol and was wide awake and in no discomfort during the entire procedure, which included 2 polypectomies.

Saw the whole thing on the colour flat panel monitor. They sent away the polyps to pathology and they came back as normal. Good for another 3 years.

Others in recovery just couldn't wake up. I had my orange juice and muffin and was eager to go in about 10 minutes. Hadn't felt so good in years, probably due to the effect of the drugs.

WDE. (the fasting with only clear liquids was the worst part of it all)

Yeah, although they weren't at all surprised that I wanted to watch. They were doing surgery on me at the same time, so they sort of brought me in and out. This would have been 1988 or thereabouts, and they hadn't decided to take a whole section of the colon at that point.

The funniest part to me was when I went in to check in for the surgery, after a 72 hour fast and three enemas, and the nurse said "your blood pressure is a little high" ..... and I said, "YA THINK???"

I did hear that the prep is a little less intense now. I had the same IV Valium/Demerol. As I recall, immediately after the operation (and I do mean immediately), I wanted Chinese food. I had Kung Pao San Yan .... my favorite thing in the whole world.
