BOOX ebook reader UPDATE: new information & Youtube Video

Onyx has product listings on Alibaba. They have 10 different case designs ready to manufacture. They range from nice but bland to a couple very pretty ones.

I also just got an email from Onyx telling me that we had incorrect information yesterday. The default CPU speed is 532MHz, and the BOOX does support EPUB. (I don't know about you, but this makes the device even more tempting.) There is also a Youtube video.

You gotta see the video. It shows how to use the touch screen to use the menu, write and erase notes, and swipe to turn the page. It also shows the web browser.

That looks incredible. Let's see the pricing. This is getting old for me, time to actually buy a reader....just need to make up my mind! See the idiom thread for the rest of my thoughts.

that looks like a very promising device ! i wonder when it will be available, and at what price ? since they are always using the stylus to interact with the screen i suspect it has the tactile bit underneath the e-ink like the irex models, and those are more expensive...

Ok, I'm drooling! I want better font adjustment on my EZ Reader!!!!

I shouldn't say that, actually, better font adjustment is one of few changes I'd make, that and better .lit support.
But I do like that font adjustment dialogue!

They look really fabulous. I wonder whether they are planning on making bigger screen device. Their current product listing page shows multiple devices but all of them have 6 inch screen.

If you look toward the end of the other thread, you'll see that Onyx is planning 8" and 9.7" devices.

Thanks for the information. Hope they make something sooner than later, hopefully earlier than Plastic logic.

It's amazing. That's what I want. It's smaller enough to take it outside with me eveytime and importantly, its features are attractive for me.

Waiting for more new features.

So glad I waited for this new generation of devices.
This one in particular looks very impressive softwarewise.
