A HDD will always use require more battery than a flash memory. And since flash memory is increasing in size, I don't see the point of making HDDs this small.

0.85 inch... Isn't that about the size of the microdrives you can already get? The compact flash sized ones? If it's smaller, why would you need it smaller?
And yes, hard drives need more power than flash memory. Spinning the drive takes much more power. It's the same concept as the PSP discs vs. DS cartridges. Spinning takes power, and (relatively) lots of it. |
