Leiber, Fritz: The Creature From Cleveland Depths. v1. 8 Jan 2009
The Creature From Cleveland Depths Here is a modern tale of an inner-directed sorcerer and an outer-directed sorcerer’s apprentice … a tale of — This is my first ebook posted, please leave feedback. The cover is a collage I made using illustrations from the text. I formatted the text with a space before and after em-dashes, this is a controversial topic but I felt that was the safest method to prevent problem. File located off-site. I like the cover. Works fine with the story. As for the space or not space issue: Hey, as long as you have em-dashes instead of those ugly --, everything's alright as far as I am concerned. Karma coming your way!

I was a bit worried when I saw the author's death date but, since the work is in Project Gutenberg, it must be ok. This must be one of those cases where the author didn't renew the US copyright.
Thanks for posting it.

Patricia, seems to be a growing collection on PG of texts taken from pulp magazines that didn't renew the copyright. I figured I'd take a look at doing those, since it is hard to keep up with you and the others on classics.

The transcriber, on Gutenberg, has this note:
"Transcriber’s Note: This etext was produced from Galaxy December 1962. Extensive research did not uncover any evidence that the U.S. copyright on this publication was renewed." Don

“How to Write the First 3 Paragraphs of YOUR Indie Novel” - by Max Waxwelp 1) Always write 3 sentences of exposition; 2) now create some dialogue, preferably no more than 2 sentences; and 3) make certain the dialogue is either inane or humorous. Example: “Bob, I did not know you wore yellow suspenders,” Sally remarked. “Gee, Sally, those are not suspenders. I am wearing yellow underwear today,” Bob revealed. The dialogue above will help produce at least 100 more pages of dialogue. |
