Fitzgerald, F. Scott: Financing Finnegan. v1. 06 Jan 09
Unfortunately, I have yet to read this one, but I do know that Fitzgerald who was always in need of cash to sustain his drinking habit and his wife Zelda's mental deterioration, was often able to get money advanced to him through his literary agent, Harold Ober, hence, we have a play on the title of this story. A quote on this circumstance: "When Ober decided not to continue advancing Fitzgerald, the author severed ties with his longtime friend and agent. (Fitzgerald offered a good-hearted and apologetic tribute to this support in the late short story 'Financing Finnegan.')" Like all the books I assemble on MobileRead, this too was assembled to reflect human intervention and artistic judgment. I hope you enjoy it. “How to Write the First 3 Paragraphs of YOUR Indie Novel” - by Max Waxwelp 1) Always write 3 sentences of exposition; 2) now create some dialogue, preferably no more than 2 sentences; and 3) make certain the dialogue is either inane or humorous. Example: “Bob, I did not know you wore yellow suspenders,” Sally remarked. “Gee, Sally, those are not suspenders. I am wearing yellow underwear today,” Bob revealed. The dialogue above will help produce at least 100 more pages of dialogue. |
