Welches Programm verwendet Ihr zum Konvertieren von PDF Dateien in Mobipocket?
Gibts andere (evtl. bessere) Programme als den Mobipocket Reader?

Ganz einfach den Mobipocket Creater. Oft liefert der recht gute Ergebnisse. Kommt immer auf die Ausgangsdatei an. Ansonsten heißt es Hand anlegen an dem XML-File...

Vergesst es. PDF direkt nach Mobi bringt nur schlechte Resultate.

ThR: Creator ist nur gut, wenn Deine Ansprüche nicht soooo hoch sind. Am besten PDF per OCR scannen(Abby), Text oder Html noch mal separat bearbeiten und dann per Creator Mobi Datei draus machen.

Viel Arbeit, ich weiss.

Sorry, kleiner aber feiner Unterschied. Creator stellt als Zwischenstufe XHTML files her und nicht etwa XML. Das hört sich vielleich oberlehrerhaft an, aber diese beiden Arten von Files sind vom Coding her grundsätzlich verschieden. So kann man die von Creator hergestellten Files mit jedem HTML-Editor bearbeiten, XML dagegen nicht.

Der Creator liefert meiner Erfahrung nach gute Ergebnisse, solange die PDF nicht zu kompliziert formatiert ist. Einspaltige Layouts ohne Formeln und Bilder funktionieren recht gut, zweispaltige hab ich noch nicht probiert, Formeln werden nicht korrekt konvertiert, bei viel Grafik verschluckt der sich schon mal.

2-spaltige PDFs kann man mit dem Creator vergessen. Das hat bei mir in bislang keinem Fall funktioniert.

Und stimmt - ich habe nicht wirklich große Ansprüche. Mir reicht es, wenn ich einen Zeilenumbruch wirklich nur am Ende eines Absatzes habe und nicht irgendwo zwischendrin. Auch die Kapitelüberschriften sollten eine eigene Zeile haben. Mehr ist eigentlich nicht nötig.
Natürlich gefallen mir sauber durchformatierte Bücher besser, z.B. mit Seitenumbruch vor jedem Kapitel, etc... Aber mit 2 Buben im Alter von 3 und 6 bleibt dafür die Zeit nicht übrig.

Wenn man das mitgelieferte Programm PdftoXml.exe verwendet, bekommt man wirklich XML-Dateien. Die bestehen aus verschachtelten Tags für das Buch, jede Seite und jede Zeile. Da für jede Zeile die x-Position angegeben ist, kann man bei einfachen PDFs recht leicht die bestehenden Absätze wieder herstellen.
