Drib, Dr. [Editor]: Dead Bodies Everywhere. v1. 22 Nov 08
A number of individuals have given me advice and encouragement - RWood, Harry, JSWolf - but all mistakes and problems are of my own creation. One thing I've already noticed is that the cover photo is small, but that may be because the original is rather small. (Problem: I had to play around with this photo issue, as I had 3 or 4 copies of the photo appearing at odd places within the first 2 or 3 pages of the file, so I just deleted the two photos from BD and copied one into this .PRC file.) Anyway, I hope that I'll get better at this. I've had quite a number of people PM me and send messages requesting that I do Mobi for the books I assemble in the Sony format. Below is some boring material: _____________________________________________ These stories were released under a Creative Commons License with a link to the stories here. There is additional acknowledgment AND a link again placed at the end of the book. All stories acquired from Munsey's; however, THIS ENTIRE BOOK WAS CREATED AND FORMATTED BY ME TO MY SPECIFICATIONS. Additionally, every story was taken by Munsey's from Pulpgen. Tired of all the rants , ravings, and ramblings that fill some websites and our lives? Then come with me and take a walk along those dark alleys where crime flourished..at least for a time. I've assembled 10 stories of detection and mystery from the old days of the pulps, when entertainment meant something. Like all the books I assemble on MobileRead, this too was assembled to reflect human intervention and artistic judgment. I hope you enjoy it. I know I did! Don NOTE: This is my 400 book I've assembled (in the Sony format). Wait 'til I tell you about the next 400 !!!! “How to Write the First 3 Paragraphs of YOUR Indie Novel” - by Max Waxwelp 1) Always write 3 sentences of exposition; 2) now create some dialogue, preferably no more than 2 sentences; and 3) make certain the dialogue is either inane or humorous. Example: “Bob, I did not know you wore yellow suspenders,” Sally remarked. “Gee, Sally, those are not suspenders. I am wearing yellow underwear today,” Bob revealed. The dialogue above will help produce at least 100 more pages of dialogue. |

The reason the cover image is small is because you used Book Designer to make the PRC instead of following HarryT's tutorial. Book Designer does a so-so job of making Mobipocket eBooks. BD tends to reduce the images in size including the cover. Plus it doesn't put in links for the cover, the ToC, and to start reading. Using the tutorial works so much better. Then you can post version 2.0 and from there use mobi2imp to make versions for the EB1150 and EB1200. See the link below for the tutorial thread.

I've noticed a few problems in the PRC edition. One problem is that we can get the end of one story and the start of another on the same page. Also the ToC runs into the introduction.
Solution is easy. Just make sure you put in page breaks where appropriate and follow HarryT's tutorial and voila problem solved. Also the cover image will not be resized down to the size of a postage stamp.

That's correct. For Mobi, you have to put in manual page breaks between the chapters.
