Sarban: The Sound Of His Horn. v1. 20 Oct 08
http://www.munseys.com/book/21900/So..._His_Horn,_The ___________________________________________ Philip K. Dick did it, with the Japanese, so why not Sarban with something slightly different? From the Wiki: "His most famous story is the alternate history-novel The Sound of His Horn (1952) which presupposes that the Nazis have won World War II and built amusement parks where they hunt genetically altered humans for sport." Like all the books I assemble on MobileRead, this too was assembled to reflect human intervention and artistic judgment. I hope you enjoy it. “How to Write the First 3 Paragraphs of YOUR Indie Novel” - by Max Waxwelp 1) Always write 3 sentences of exposition; 2) now create some dialogue, preferably no more than 2 sentences; and 3) make certain the dialogue is either inane or humorous. Example: “Bob, I did not know you wore yellow suspenders,” Sally remarked. “Gee, Sally, those are not suspenders. I am wearing yellow underwear today,” Bob revealed. The dialogue above will help produce at least 100 more pages of dialogue. |

If he did I hope Congress repeals them. They did nothing to protect the ones they were designed to protect, gave them a false sense of security, and cost the companies involved in their creation a lot of money along with wasted time and effort.

Hey RWood, you are talking about my bread and butter! I have been working on the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOx) program for a major company formerly headquartered in Seattle for the last four years.
And while some of what you say is true, the fact remains that most of the requirements of SOx are essential parts of any financial accounting practice. The alarming part is just that people see this as a waste of time, when it should always have been business as usual. That said, for a really effective method of ending financial scandals, I recommend bringing back the guillotine. And with that, I will end this off-topic rant. |
