Problems with Fictionwise?

Has anyone besides me had problems with Fictionwise and their customer service?

I've bought a dozen or so books from Fictionwise, and signed up for their five year membership. But since their recent changes on their site I haven't been able to get it to accept my credit card CVV2 number. And I've had one off hand reply (after nearly a week from customer service) with a suggestion which didn't work.

Does anyone know of a way of getting through to them?

Regards, Alex

Couldn't you just try a different payment method, such as PayPal?

FW's customer support is generally very helpful - I'm not sure why they've been slow answering you. They do generally take 2-3 days to reply, in my experience.

Might perhaps be worth asking on the FW mailing list - the FW owner reads that and regularly posts.

I have had no problems with FW. I do use a PayPal account though. Once had a problem when I bought the same book twice on the same day (don't ask O.K.) and it was sorted out quickly. Hope you get sorted out.

No problems here either. Just checking - are you sure you're entering the security code for the same card whose information is stored at FW? I find it's easy to grab the wrong card...

Alex, I don't know if it was coincidence or not, but I had the same problem on the FW site with my CVV2 number. I think I just switched to PayPal.

A couple weeks later, it worked fine.

I thought maybe it was because the first time I used it, it was a newly updated card. You know how you get those cards the month before the old one was due to expire? I wondered if the CVV2 code is somehow tied to a particular date range...

Totally guessing here, but if you don't get an answer, it might be worth just trying again in a week or two...

Never had a problem with Fictionwise taking money. After the first book I switched to PayPal from the credit card I used for the first one.

the last time I paid, was for 1 year membership a week or so ago. Paid with credit card. Always pay with CC only. no problems with FW at that time.

I've never had a problem with the website being able to take my money.

They take too much of money and they take it too easily....if you get my drift.

Seriously, I've never had any problems with them whatsoever.

1) Always write 3 sentences of exposition; 2) now create some dialogue, preferably no more than 2 sentences; and 3) make certain the dialogue is either inane or humorous. Example:
“Bob, I did not know you wore yellow suspenders,” Sally remarked.
“Gee, Sally, those are not suspenders. I am wearing yellow underwear today,” Bob revealed.

The dialogue above will help produce at least 100 more pages of dialogue.

Thanks to all. I bought my last couple of books through PayPal, but will try the credit card again next time.

It's exactly the same credit card as I used for previous purchases.

Regards, Alex
