FREE BOOKS: 4 by Peter Watts (multi-format)

Saw this posted on the Amazon Forums.

Available as PDF, HTML and MOBI

Malestrom
Behemoth
Blindsight
Starfish [back again for those who may have missed it earlier in the summer]

Note from the author on the Behemoth page with a little 4-letter word editing by moi.

Quote:
Author's Note

This is the way it was meant to be. Well, not all pixellated and virtual or (at best) home-printed, but integrated, dammit, a single novel in a single package, and f*ck the beancounters and their Solomonesque book-splitting travesties. We aren't in the old-school economy any more, Toto— we're giving this stuff away now, and you can judge it for better or worse as a single standalone entity. You may agree with Publisher's Weekly and call this the capstone to one of the major works of hard-sf in the new century. Or you may side with Kirkus and dismiss it as horrific porn, rife with relentlessly clinical scenes of sexual torture. (Hell, you may even decide they're both right.) But whatever you decide, at least you'll be basing that assessment, finally, on complete data.

—Peter Watts, 2007
Edit: These books can also be read online.
Edit2: Be sure to get the Blindsight.prc download from the John Joseph Adams link.

I didn't even think to look here!

I've downloaded many, many books here that our wonderful community has shared, but I have the Peter Watts from Feedbooks, I believe from before I joined MobileRead.

Thanks, daffy4u, for letting me know about these.

And thanks, bwaldron, for letting me know they're available at Feedbooks.

I discarded the html versions fron the author's site and immediately went to Feedbooks and downloaded the PDFs (for the Sony).

I was asleep at the computer!

For the actual reason I missed so many downloads, here's an explanation.

I was on hiatus for awhile, moving from Cincinnati and back to Arkansas in preparation for my move to Peru in order to be close to my fiance.

Then the dreaded INCIDENT happened: My computer's hard disk crashed! --- ARGGGHHH! as they used to say in the comics. (I think they've since changed it to ARRGGGGGHH, with more emphasis on the gargling sound.)

I still need to mass download ALL the lrf files and stash them away somewhere safe.

Thank you :-) Even if they are in the MR library, I wouldn't have known it (unless I spesifically looked). I truly value the posts found in this forum about free books, recommendations etc.

Sorry for raising an old thread from the dead, but this felt like the right place.

I just saw Blindsight (french version) in a bookshop here in France.
I greatly enjoyed it as an ebook so I bought it as a keeper.

Score one more for the free release of ebooks !
