Smoking a pack and a half a day, at about $6 per pack, my states read;
Fourteen years, four months, one week, 3 hours, 7 minutes .
157293 cigarettes not smoked, saving $47,188.17.
Time used for better things: 1 year, 25 weeks, 3 hours, 45 minutes.

You can just about double that for you if you smoked as much, or at least base your figures around it.

LOTS of water! Club soda with a twist works well too! I went to a Good Will store and bought a huge bag of plates and saucers for a couple of bucks. When needed, I could just throw one or two against the wall out back. The noise and the flying pieces really made me feel better...

I did a lot of crossword, Sudoku and logic puzzles to keep my mind off of smoking and my hands busy when I quit. It helped a lot.

Just rebuilt my computer after a catastrophic crash last night. Well, I exaggerate, but the game my wife and I were playing caused the system to freeze and blue-screen a couple of times, and then wrecked the video card memory. Coincidently, it's my Birthday tomorrow, and I was getting a new video card, so I got my gift a day early to allow me to get back on line. Hurrah! No files lost, just a lot of wasted time reinstalling video drivers that helped not one bit.

Just got back today from a family Christmas with my family, my wife's family and some friends. Very good it was too.

Just catching up with posts here and enjoying being back in my own home.

Wondering about power... and how some use it for others while others use it for themselves...and wondering what makes these people so different.

And HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ORLOK!! MAY YOU HAVE MANY MORE! I don't know if you realize this, but birthdays are really good for you! The more you have, the longer you live!

Fantastic!!!!! You're in the middle of the most difficult part right now, so stay strong. Keep in mind that those feelings you may experience are chemically-induced and they WILL go away soon. Just don't smoke today. Don't worry about tomorrow. Just stay smoke-free today!

My hat's off the anyone who can stop this terrible habit. It's actually harder to stop smoking than to stop doing illegal drugs! There are signs everywhere telling us that we SHOULD smoke, cultural inducements and rituals that almost force it on us. It takes hard work and dedication to stop, and anyone who does deserves full credit!

Setting up my replacement iPod touch. For some reason the battery was draining rather quickly on the previous one. I was worried I'd have to pay a replacement fee cause the reciept was no where to be found. Fortunately this turned out not to be the case. (Apple stores can determine warranty status simply by looking at the serial code.)
