I've watched the original Danish version, though the American is on my list of "to-watch" (which is starting to go the way of my TBR list ).

Tonight I'm going to watch one or two episodes of Downton Abbey and a movie, but I haven't decide which movie, I'm not even sure what genre I'm in the mood for (horror, documentary or James Bond).

Whilst decided I'm watching the progress of copying Time Team episodes from my computer to my mediaplayer with FTP, it's very hypnotizing!

If you heard a scream earlier today, it was probably me.

I have been monitoring Emily (the spider living on our front porch) for several days - during which we had some cold (in the 30's F) weather and she hadn't moved at all. Plus the web was damaged and not being repaired. We feared that nature had taken its course and she had expired. So we decided to take down the Caution warning tape (which protected her during Halloween) and move the web - with her in it - along with her egg case to some bushes - to give the young 'uns some protection & shelter to hatch and grow up in. Well - we snagged the top of the web onto a branch and tugged it free of the porch railing - whereupon she began to move! By the time we got to the designated nursery bush, she was on top of the branch and heading towards us! The branch/web/spider combination was hurriedly placed in the bush & we ran for it!

Once my heart rate has dropped a bit, I'll go back & visit the bush to check on the family!
I miss her very much when I pass the front door and reflexively look out the side light to check on her.

Very few things in this world are as frightening as a spider (or centipede) and heading directly towards you! Personally, I would have called in an air strike. I sincerely hope you had sufficient quantities of Scotch on hand to deal with it. Repeat after me.... Oooooooommmmm..... Ooooooommmmm...... Oooooommmmm......

I'm glad Emily is okay. My Sammie didn't fare as well. I'd been documenting her life for weeks, then on Friday 11/2 I went out and saw that she wasn't moving and her web was in shreds. I checked for two days, no movement, just a ball of Sammie in the corner of the gutter. On day 3, Sammie's remains were partially eaten by... something. I didn't take any photos of that, too sad.

In some spider species, the babies hatch and eat Mom!

That's why we decided to move Emily with her egg sac to the new location. I'll monitor what happens.

Sorry that Sammie is gone. Maybe you'll be able to adopt one of her offspring next year?

I hope so. My documenting of Sammie's daily habits helped me get over my horrible fear of spiders.

What I'm doing right now - taking screenshots to post regarding an issue myself and another user are having with groups in the user control panel. Exciting.

Aw I'm sorry Sammie is gone. I used to be afraid of spiders when I was young (never killed them though) but over time I gained a lot of appreciation for the little critters. I often name them now. Although every so often there will be a really big one that I still end up having to put outside, just because I worry it might end up in my bed or on me, lol. (which has happened.)
