Baum, L. Frank: The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. 09 June 2008.
Intermittently illustrated with pictures by W.W. Denslow. I don't have as many figures as Roy White's excellent LRF version, so if you are PRC-independent, you might want to check that out instead.
Feel free to post/PM me with corrections (of course), but I'll be away from a computer for a few weeks, so it may take me a while to get back to you.

My college History professor told us that The Wizard of Oz was seen by some at the time to be a Populist political tract.
I read it twenty years later, and there is no doubt about it - Baum was a libertarian.
That is to say, it's not a children's book!
