A very nice recent review on Amazon.

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful story that is full of heart and love of life June 23, 2014
By WT Sharpe
What an enjoyable story The Baer Boys by Alan Hutcheson is. The characters are well-drawn and very believable, and the story is deeply engrossing. There are no guns, no explosions, and no villains in this tale (well, one teenager who was a certified jerk); rather the author managed to build and sustain suspense and interest without them by focusing on the fortunes and vicissitudes of everyday life. I found myself rooting for everyone in the novel, even when their goals conflicted. I genuinely liked these characters and didn't want to see anyone lose out or get hurt. The Baer Boys is frequently funny, sometimes poignant, but always full of heart and love of life. Most highly recommended.

5 star review for The Baer Boys

Another very nice review for The Baer Boys. This one from a Goodreads member.

May 13, 2014 Carol rated it 5 of 5 stars
From first reading the free sample I couldn't wait to read this book. It did not disappoint me. It is a very believable story that I could relate to. Funny, romance, suspense- what more could you ask. I hope there will be more Baer books.

Thank you, Carol!

Review on Amazon UK

Gentle humour runs through every page 22 July 2014

Alan Hutcheson has the ability to describe everyday events in a way which makes you feel privileged to be there looking on. Characters come alive and entertain the reader.

Hopes of a lasting career in the theatre had to be adjusted and Darin Baer takes up teaching drama at his old high school where his dad often steals the scene and if he doesn't then his sausage dog does.

Gentle humour runs through every page and in my own busy day it was a delight to return to Darin and his journey towards finding the love he has long missed out on.

Beautifully written, superb style, akin to P.G. Wodehouse.

Yes, five stars it is - I loved it.

Just raising my hand and saying,

"I'd be honored if you would have a look at either of my books."

Thanks!

I couldn't put this one down. Had to read it to the end and oh how I wish I was a friend of Darin, Art and the General! They, along with all of the other characters in the book, step right off of the pages and into your heart. This is a book for everyone, with a lot of smiles, a few tears and a huge bucket of life!
