It all started as a jargon file on a computer at Stanford (some say MIT.) From these early stages it grew to include far more than just the AI arena. Based in a culture of the DECsystem-10 computer (I spent 5 years working on one) the terms spread and many became universal to all programmers.
This version is derived from the unmaintained list and has not been modified for many years. Those of us who programmed then will find many favorite terms here. Others may just enjoy the ride.
