Official Web Page for Aura HD

Availability Info
Kobo Aura HD will be available for pre-order in North America starting April 16 at www.kobo.com and will be in-stores in Canada and the United Kingdom starting April 25. International availability will begin in May.

Please ignore any possible bias, mainly as I've not actually seen / touched the device as yet, but when I can get my lazy ass up to the appropriate floor in the Castle, I shall see if it may supplant my Touch as my primary reading device.

I wonder if Kobo will ever release a 5" front-lit reader. That would make me switch from Sony.

Yup, next up is the Kobo Fiver, a 5" eInk reader Sorry, could not resist.

I think the mini is a 5" device, so guessing you'd want something like that but with the Glo's light?

Yes, the Mini with Kobo's Glo Light. I love my 350s but a built-in light would be so nice for some places I read.

Looks nice, I'll look forward to seeing some reviews.

When they say supports Adobe DRM I assume they still mean only the one type (Adobe ID based) and not both types or have their newer readers supported the password based (ie: B&N style) as well?

You are talking about PassHash, and at present this is not supported on the eInk devices. As an aside, the Kobo iOS application does support PassHash protected content.

Tempting, but the software is the same, buggy Kobo software, from what I can see.

Hopefully this means something from Amazon with this display isn't too far behind.

Like Ripp said, a lighted Kobo Mini would have me ordering, bugs or not. I want one.
