(Illustrated.) By Robert W Chambers (1865-1933). I haven’t come across this author before, but was browsing PG and liked the title. The novel seems to be a humorous episodic set of linked stories about a professional tracer of missing people. This work is in the Canadian public domain OR the copyright holder has given specific permission for distribution. It may still be under copyright in some countries.
