While not necessarily ebook related but I could see this being a possible alternative if they can keep the weight down. It's listed at 3 pounds in the article, seems heavy but an interesting device imo.

hey, it's (almost) here ! i can't wait to see what the final product looks like, if only because the idea is so brilliant. also, at 200$, i'm pretty tempted to look into getting one.

Yeah the $200 price point is what caught my attention and the fact it runs on Linux, endless possibilities.

also i love the idea that somebody got tired of waiting and decided to build their own. i love the idea of open source hardware. the pandora project made me wish i liked game consoles, just because i thought it was so brilliant and i wanted one for the idea of it.
