How to transfer settings from Glo to Aura?

I do not have the Aura yet, but these questions have popped into my mind.

Is there a way to transfer the personal settings from the Glo to the Aura?

I do not want to manually create the shelves again on the Aura.

In addition, I don't to lose the pages I have bookmarked on the Glo.

Are you reading books in Kobo ePub format or plain ePub format?

If Kobo ePub format then the shelves, books on shelves and location in books are synced via the Kobo cloud, either via WiFi or Kobo Desktop.

If using ePubs then the names of the shelves but not the content are synced via the Kobo cloud. However, if you used calibre to load the ePubs and define the shelves, then calibre will repeat this process for you; however, the location within book will not be synced via calibre.

Can you sync settings and reading life with Kobo software and still use Calibre for book management?

Correct. Kobo will sync the purchased kepubs and related information. Shelves are synced, but the contents are only synced for kepubs.
