I believe one of the requirements for the program is that you have to login to Audible from an login that matches your Amazon account.

Mine are separate, so I can't do it unless I want to create a new Audible account.

If you compare the sales pitch they have for the KFs, on the US page they have a paragraph about audio books and whispersync for voice right after the 20 million songs pitch, while that is missing on the European kindle pages. Weird.

I tried the whispersyc feature on a book (Small Gods by Terry Pratchett) that we were reading for a book club, and found that it didn't sync at all between my phone and my iPod (my primary audiobook listening device) and only imperfectly between my phone and my kindle keyboard. I wasn't terribly impressed, certainly not enough to try it again. It was too much of a pain to keep trying to sync my devices to the internet and Amazon all the time. It's just as easy for me to listen to one book while reading another.

On the other hand, getting books at a discount that way is appealing, and I'll have to check it out next time I go to buy a book in both formats (which is a fairly rare occurrence).

ETA: I just bought Calculated in Death in both paper and audio, and this feature wasn't available to me anyway.

I've found my older iTouch has issues with synching in the Audible software, but I haven't had any problems between my Fire's Kindle books & Audio books, Kindle Keyboard books & audiobooks, the Paperwhite, or Audible on my phone.

I use the deal of the days in kindle to get really cheap audio books. Though you need to really pay attention to the audiobook prices. Sometimes it is not worth it...
