Adjust character spacing (azw3 to pdf)

Converting azw3 to pdf using input profile 'kindle' and output profile 'default' worked quite well except the characters in pdf are too condensed. How do I increase character spacing? And how do I view/change the settings stored in profiles or create my own?

Use the letter-spacing css property.And if you want to control pdf page size look under pdf output in the conversion dialog.

After quite a bit of time debugging, I finally managed to adjust letter-spacing. Although it behaves very strangely, for example:

.s { letter-spacing: 1 }

does nothing, but:

.s1 { letter-spacing: 1 }

sets spacing for classes 's' and 's1' to 's10', although:

.s2 { letter-spacing: 1 }

does not affect anything but 's2'.

Unfortunately, 'normal' or '0' produces too condensed text, and '1' or '0.1em' too much expanded, and '0.5' or '0.05em' get rounded to '0' and '0.6' to '1'

Use body { letter-spacing: whatever !important}

as long as your book doesn't specify its own letter spacing styles, that should work for all text. As for the correct value, I cant help with that, as what looks "right" s entirely subjective.
