Merging text files, TXTcollector

I'm tinkering with a book from Project Runeberg and discovered that it had a text file for each page. Luckily I found this little Freeware program that works quite well (though the browsing function is a bit rough). It's called TXTcollector http://bluefive.pair.com/txtcollector.htm and it merged the more than 400 txt files quite nicely.

Back in the DOS days it was done easily with copy (OK, maybe not so easily if you have to merge 400 files). With a linux shell, at least it's as easy as "cat *.txt > merged.txt"
