Wharton, Edith: Certain People, v.1, 14 Feb 2008.

A collection of short stories (1934).

Contents:

Atrophy
A Bottle of Perrier
After Holbein
Dieu D’Amour
The Refugees
Mr. Jones

The source was PG Australia. Mrs Wharton died in 1937, so her work is now in the public domain in countries where copyright is life plus 70 years.

I have restored accents and added curly quotes, though rather regretted doing so when I realised that one cockney character persistently dropped his aitches and every single inverted comma needed to be checked.
This work is in the Canadian public domain OR the copyright holder has given specific permission for distribution. It may still be under copyright in some countries. If you live outside Canada, check your country's copyright laws. If the book is under copyright in your country, do not download or redistribute this work.
