I did 4 or 5 of them, which are available here. (In fact, I did a LOT of hard-core pulp from the '50s. I think it's a wonderful genre.) Don

“How to Write the First 3 Paragraphs of YOUR Indie Novel” - by Max Waxwelp 1) Always write 3 sentences of exposition; 2) now create some dialogue, preferably no more than 2 sentences; and 3) make certain the dialogue is either inane or humorous. Example: “Bob, I did not know you wore yellow suspenders,” Sally remarked. “Gee, Sally, those are not suspenders. I am wearing yellow underwear today,” Bob revealed. The dialogue above will help produce at least 100 more pages of dialogue. |

This one is part of the Amazon Big Deal promo posted by member djulian, but it's worth looking at if you haven't seen it.
Lemons Never Lie by Richard Stark (Donald Westlake) is currently $0.99 http://www.amazon.com/Lemons-Never-L.../dp/B007QW58W0 This takes place as a parallel series to the more well-known Parker series, and features another thief, Alan Grofield. (Interestingly, there's a pair of books, one featuring Grofield, and one featuring Parker, that cover each character's part in, and reaction to, a heist gone bad.) This one had been out of print for a long time, so it's good to have another chance to read it! Quote:

Dutch Me Deadly: Passport to Peril Series, Book 7 (A Passport to Peril Mystery) by Maddy Hunter free today
'Book 7 in the critically acclaimed, bestselling Passport to Peril Mystery series! As a travel escort for seniors, Emily Andrew-Miceli has led her feisty Iowa clan all over the world. This time, they’re off to see historic windmills, classic Rembrandts, and picturesque canals in Holland—if they can ever unplug from their smartphones, that is. Joining them is the high school class from Bangor, Maine, whose 50th reunion celebration goes south faster than a fallen Brussel sprout soufflé as old rivalries start heating up. Worse, Emily’s hopes for a 100% survival rate on this trip are dashed when an important member of the tour suffers a tragic (and highly suspicious) accident. Then the saucy seniors’ wild night of drug-laced desserts and risqué shows in Amsterdam’s infamous Red Light District gets even more mysterious when one unpopular reunioner goes missing . . .' The formatting on this one is absolutely diabolical. Better to give it a miss unless you desperately want to read it.
