Generic ebook Cover

Why is there an inconsistency between the cover Kindle shows in the home screen and the one you see in full view? Frequently, the one they show in full screen is the actual cover you will see in the printed book but the one in full view is just a bland generic cover.

If this is a copyright issue, why not have a generic cover both in home screen and in full view? If it is a copyright issue, why is it OK to have the actual cover in the home screen but not in full view?

The cover you see is the one you will see in the Kindle home screen but if you click to look inside, the cover you will see is a generic cover.

Ask the publisher. They are the ones that format their ebooks.

Has anyone ever asked a publisher a question like that, and gotten a satisfactory (non-canned) answer back?

I don't think it is even possible to contact the publisher directly. You can only contact Amazon and they may forward your question and request but chance is pretty slim that you will get any reply from the publisher.

Why not? Go to their website, and find a contact us link. For the book listed above:
