No one ever said it would be easy. The reason Calibre can be complicated is because the whole ebook scene is complicated. But it is NOT Kovid & Co.'s responsibility to "uncomplicate" the situation for people. Let them swim or sink. I help my family with questions, but I also expect them to have at least tried to solve the problem or learn about the problem before I hand them a regurgitated answer. |

I greatly appreciate the "cover flow"-like display, but in this particular case, it's nothing but painfull to search which books had no cover. Especially for user having thousands of eBooks. Just two days ago, I did a huge browse of my books, in order to find the missing covers. It takes me 90 min, to explore half of my 12 000 eBooks. |

You could always enter cover:false into the search bar to see all books without a cover.

I'd like to point out that there is a good web-based help file that explains in simple, basic terms how to do some of the nifty stuff Calibre is capable of.
http://stu.wccnet.edu/~rprice/Eng218...Help/index.htm It also explains concepts like metadata (which I don't think is really all that difficult a concept to grasp). If it would make things easier, I'd be happy to share the actual files with anybody who could make the help file easier to find. I'll also take any suggestions on how to improve it. |
