Obsolete users
How long must a user not have logged into MR before that user is deleted from the registered user list? I do think it would be a good idea to purge MR of inactive users that have not logged in for a certain period of time.

My thinking on this is that two years would do very well.

Never. We don't delete users, and never will. There's no reason to do so.

There was one site I had not logged into for 3-4 years and then my interest in it piqued again and I logged in and was relieved my username and password still worked. Sometimes a shift in life happens and people's reasons for not being continuous on websites are all different.

Not only that; if you delete old users what is to prevent a new user registering with the now available name, and causing a great deal of confusion.

How does the software work with banned users? I don't mean long time posters like Happy Terd or Recluse but one-time spammers. Are they deleted immediately and their names free to be used again? Or do they clutter the database?
