Typewriter software or sounds?
I'm looking for some kind of typewriter sounds plug in for MS word or for open office...to add some romanticism. I've downloaded Hometypist, a program that makes typing sounds, but it doesn't seem to work while typing in word or open office, only in notepad. I've also downloaded Q10 which does a good job of it, but I'm not sure about the set up. I've got a few typewriter fonts, now I just need the noise! Any suggestions? Oh, and I use a PC / Windows 8.

Try this one, Qwertick. It's portable, doesn't need to be installed anywhere, just extract the tiny exe file from the zip to anywhere on your drive, and double-click to run it when you start typing. Tested in Word 2007---Win7. (I've used a couple of Nattyware utilities, like Pixie, but not this one)

I bypassed the software angle and went straight to hardware! New-style keyboards just can't replicate the feel and sound of the old-style mechanical keyboards.
