Yes, you read that right. It's the missing Dave Dawson book.
To start with, copyright info and permissions.
I am the author of this book and I have copyrighted it.
The "R. Sidley Bohlen" pseudonym is a tribute to R. Sidney Bowen.
Per the license terms, it may be freely downloaded,
re-uploaded to different venues without limitation, and
shared without limitation. The only restriction, basically,
is that this may not be sold for profit (without my permission).
Now, about the book itself ...
The Dave Dawson series of juvenile military fiction was very successful
during WWII. After the war, there were no more written. There were 15 books
published in the series, and a sixteen, "Dave Dawson Over Berlin," was announced
but never published, and probably never written.
I decided to write the missing book. Attached is an excerpt, the first three chapters,
as much as I've written so far. I suppose you could call it "fan fiction" of sorts.
I do ask for a voluntary contribution at the end, but you can ignore this if you like.
The original Dave Dawson series, by R. Sidney Bowen,
is out of copyright, and several of the books are available on Gutenberg in various
