Is it possible to disable the black light bar with the light on?

Disabling Black Bar

Go into Settings

Select "Light, Sleep & Power"

Under "Light indicator appears:" press the arrow and choose "Clear"

...but you can't make the bottom bar disappear altogether. Black or clear are the only choices.

When it's clear it's gone. If you mean the space well it's used for the icons when you press at the bottom of the reader.

I'm curious, why do you dislike it? I turned it off, and a day later turned it back on. Since that area is used for icons, page numbers, etc., it makes sense that it be highlighted/differentiated. I wish I could turn it *on* for when the light is *off*!
