Information only: This has the vizplex screen, by the way, and not the pearl screen.

Regardless of the marketing meaning of "Vizplex", the background on the Mini is whiter, and contrast higher than, my Sony 950, which had a Pearl screen. Interestingly, the Sony displays Vizplex as one of the trademarks at cold startup.

Until November 25, Chapters/Indigo will give you a $20 gift card if you order an Arc. I just caved and preordered a 32GB white Arc. Can't wait until they're in stock! They're offering a similar deal for the Nexus 7.

The little gnomes (Orcs?) at Powell's need to get their tail-ends out of bed and update that check-out price to $49.99, or they'll lose some sales to a more a more pro-active business.

I may go somewhere else other than Powells....and you might, too.....

Perhaps the web-baron had too much grog yesterday?

I have a Kobo Glo. I can think of absolutely no reason at all I should want a Kobo Mini as well. And yet I'm struggling to resist the temptation to get one! My Glo has faster screen refreshes, and is plenty small enough for my needs. My Glo also fits in my pockets, even inside the official SleepCover (yes, I have big pockets).

I really can't explain why I am so tempted to order one.

So your smaller pockets don't get lonely?

Same here! I have a Sony PRS-T1 that I got last year Christmas and am very happy with it. I could not resist the deal and today I bought a Kobo Mini for $49.95. Maybe for someone else for Christmas, but hope nobody wants one and why do I want to keep one for myself?

Typical instant gratification syndrome of something you love. Just wait it out for a few weeks, the urge will go down. At least, that's what works for me

Don't underestimate the power of "Aw, it's so small and cute!" Fortunately, my twins wanted Minis, so I get my small and cute fix by playing with theirs every now and then.

If anyone is still tempted, Futureshop and Bestbuy in Canada have the mini discounted for Cyber Monday.
