EDIT: Just to clarify, I am talking about books you bought outside of Amazon's store. Maybe in the form of a converted .epub Last edited by Majorix; 11-16-2012 at 07:33 PM. |

I keep my book on DropBox and use the Kindle's web browser (I have a Touch, but had a Paperwhite) to download Mobi files to the device wirelessly.

Just to add , other than sideloading by connecting via usb and browser as AnemicOak pointed out, you can also send it to your kindle email address for the PW and take advantage of synchronisation across all your kindles and apps you may have registered to your account.

You can also download Amazon's mini-program to your computer called "Send to Kindle for PC" (there's also a Send to Kindle for Mac).
With it, you can use a Windows Explorer-like function on your computer (you'd right click on the book and elect to send it to your Kindle). The book(s) get added to your Personal Documents in your Amazon account so you can sync across all your Kindle devices and apps. It's very a fast transfer and works quite well (for me). Marilyn |

Also, be aware that the Kindle hasn't ever really been too suitable for pdf viewing. So, fair warning.
