I was editing headers on a book with CharisSILBI and CharisSILI embeded.

The heading would not display as Italic in the Sigil BV

If I disabled the font-family: "Charis" in the style, (to use a default italic), it worked. It also worked with the font-family set to just: serif


Note: Calibre-viewer shows the heading in (Charis) italic font

Yup, it is really strange that it has not yet been squashed yet considering how old that bug is. Lets hope they finally will solve it with the next Qt-release, whenever that may be.

I have just been experimenting (at last) with embedded fonts, and it was very disconcerting to perfect the css and layout and still see no variations. Then I opened it in Sony Library and there were all the different variations.

I'm curious how iBooks gets around the Qt bug. Isn't it a WebKit-based renderer? Or does iBooks suffer from this same affliction?

Just curious, mind you. Because I don't use Book View for anything other than getting the most basic of formatting "snapshots": big letters/small letters, vertical spacing, indentation, and images showing up.
