1- No mention of Google suggests they are listing the Nexus7 under ASUS.
2- The Amazon curve is showing signs of seasonality. 3- Nook still getting lumped into others... That puts them under Lenovo with low 6-figure units shipped. Interesting. |

Nexus 7 under Asus? I thought it was made by Samsung. Or am I confusing it with the Galaxy Tab?
Either way, the chart also shows something else- the tablet company's sales and brand identity are linked. The exception is Samsung- possibly because of phone sales- beating Amazon. Asus' fourth place is understandable; it has brand identity because of everyone who remembers when the eeePC line. Lenovo needs to invest in advertising. |

Amazon's results are impressive given how many fewer countries they have been competing in, compared to Apple and Samsung, who are truly worldwide.

From PED at Fortune on the same IDC report:-
"Although neither Samsung nor Amazon release tablet sales or shipment figures, IDC estimates that the two companies' shipments "surged" last quarter." [my emphasis] So it's all just guesswork then??
