The Night Circus - Erin Morgenstern
Has any (male!) readers read the above?
The plot interested me as it seemed intriguing but the romance bit put me off a little. I'm not really into romance and the book cover appeared more to the female side and was wondering if it's a decent read?

I tried, but I kept stalling out. There's other weird/trippy/ahistorical/steampunky/fantasy-ish/circus-related fiction I've enjoyed more.

I read it and didn't find it particularly good. The book really relies on the reader being "wowed" by the magic of the circus, but I found it wasn't anything particularly special in that department. Without the spectacle of the circus, the languid pacing and stilted romance between the two (fairly uninteresting) main characters made this one a slog for me.
