typing notes on iLiad?

I was wondering the following thing. If I connect USB keyboard to my iLiad, is there a way in which I will be able to type notes in it (for example, open an empty text document and just type stuff right into it)? For now the only thing I know how to do with iLiad's own keyboard (or writing pad) is change file names and such basic things...

Take a look at AbiWord, it's a complete text processing software which should work with a usb keyboard.

Thanks! I love the program! I have the same problem with not being able make it recognize Word files as everybody else seems to be having, but I love it anyway!
