Reset Aura without pinhole

Sometimes I don't have a paperclip at hand and my device crashes so I can't reset by pressing the pinhole. Is there any way to reset without using the pinhole.

Holding the power button in the off position for 10 to 15 seconds will force the device to turn off. Then you can turn it on.

Most time you can soft reset the device by holding the power switch for 20 secs or a little longer in the off position (this will power the device off), and then press again the power switch to power the device on. Be aware that the screen does not change when you power off in this way (so you do not know exactly at which point the device is powered off, or whether you still have to continue keeping the button in the off position). You can only see that it worked if you are able to power on afterwards.

There could however be situations in which this does not work. This happened to me only once or twice.

I keep a paperclip wedged between my cover and the kobo just for this reason.

I have a straight pin with plastic ball head and point cut off and ground flat. This pin is stuck into hole in top edge of cover close to hinge formed by this pin before sharp point was cut off. Have not needed it recently.
