New firm update 1.0.03.09110
Since last nigth, my T2 offers me a new firm update. This update is not available in SONY web:

It corrects facebook logon. It's called 1.0.03.09110 update.

(unlike Kobo where connecting to their desktop software or syncing via wi-fi will force firmware updates on you, whether you want them or not) Been considering a move to Sony, and research is always nice before a $100+ investment. :P

My Sony 950 had an update available over the air after I bought it and yes, it was optional, unlike my original Nook.

So if the T2 is like that, nice! I vastly prefer being able to do a little Googling to see if an update is a good thing before installing.

My mom has been ignoring the latest update for days now. Every time she connects to WiFi she gets a little icon saying an update is available, then she hits "clear" to make it go away without updating. (She doesn't use the desktop app, though, so I can't say whether the desktop software is lenient.)

I updated this firmware, ignoring the stated AC adapter requirement. Still seemed to firmware update just fine..
Now, how about WPA2 Enterprise support, Sony?
