Missing Covers in Kindle
I have many mobi books that I have "cleaned" up using Calibre. For example standardizing title and authors. I have even found a few missing book covers. All of my books display real or Calibre generated book covers when using Calibre. Most do not show up when I transfer the mobi file to my Kindle for PC application or the Kindle itself. Why would that be?

Most kindles start on the 2nd page. You have to page back to see the cover.
