If they were that smart they wouldn't be Apple owners! But seriously, Apple didn't sue until Amazon dropped the 'for Android' part of their name. I can see where it might be confusing, but no worse than any other competition. Have you ever bought a game 'for your PC' and discovered later it was for the Wii or Xbox or something? If it cost enough to be worth the effort you just return it. And if you can afford an Apple product then you shouldn't be concerned about losing the minor amount most apps cost.

Just contact Apple's lawyers and they'll litigate the hell out of the current owners who mistakenly believe this a generic phrase. They will further sue any company who dares to produce a banana shaped product

App Store, Apple Store - They should take themselves to court of confusing people who only read the first three letters.
That said, I will now go out and start my own fresh fruit retailer which specialises only in different varieties of apples, the unambiguous, common sense name will obviously be [the ]Apple Store. The resulting litigation—that my adoring fans of juicy fruit have been confused when trying to procure tasty produce; Have instead been duped into a glass box, subterranean cavern with a terrible hipster infestation—will make me incredible wealthy/broke. |

You are correct, on an Android tablet it's simply Amazon App Store. When accessed through the Internet the webpage is Amazon AppStore for Android so as to differentiate itself from Apple's AppStore. The Amazon App Store App cannot be installed on an iPad so Apple's claims that using "App Store" is confusing to consumers is completely ridiculous, just like their lawsuit. |
