Wait for the Kindle Fire HD 32 Gb until the end of October. It won't be possible to add memory after purchase, so get the maximum now. New apps yet to be produced may require much more memory than the present Kindle Fire 8 Gb model. The current HD model only provides 16 Gb.

Mine has an Oct 25 scheduled delivery date.

Given the more limited scope of the KFHD I do not believe that storage is as big a concern as it would be for general purpose tablets. But obviously it is highly subjective.

I agree. That's why I opted to wait and get the 32 GB model. An additional benefit is hopefully Amazon will have worked out all the kinks by then too.

Nothing wrong with that. You prefer that edition and you rather wait for it so that is what you can tell them when you return the current 7" KFHD. They really don't care to tell the truth what the reason is and so long as you have the box and contents in good condition, you'll get a full refund and not just credit that you would have to use just in their stores.

After I got an altenate launcher to work, I'm really having a blast with this HD version and don't have buyers remorse at all. That said, I can only imagine the enjoyment you would get with full market, GAPPS, etc. etc.

I need to try some themes and widgets and also load youtube, try HDMI to TV, etc. etc. Least I have bragging rights for now.

I agree, I never used all the memory on my first generation KF. 16 GB is more than enough for my purposes.

We bump into memory limits. My kid has a LOT of books and apps installed. Some of the games are big. I bump my head on side loaded movies. There's room for 2-3 on my Fire, so if I'm flying across country, I have to replace watched movies before the flight home.

I am actually getting the latest iPod Nano because I've come to the realization that my music and app life cannot live under the same device. I'll use my KF for streaming, but otherwise I'm not going to use it to store my music.

And yeah, it is subjective.
