Bulk replace books on Kindle from Calibre

I have done a bulk conversion of a Calibre library, .mobi to .mobi, to take advantage of the tweak which adds the metadata to the front of the book. This worked well for me.

Now, I want to replace the books on my Kindle.

Can someone please advise the best procedure for this.

Does it replace them when we
select all, right click, and Send To Device? If not, perhaps make sure you have good backup and
select all, right click, remove books, remove matching books from device and upload again?

Thanks fratermus, for the suggestions.

If you send a book twice, the Kindle will quite happily hold it twice, so the first idea does not work.

The second will, of course, but I was hoping there would be a more elegant solution I had overlooked.
